he pain and suffering inflicted on the horses is immense. The fact that this is a “public event” witnessed by all, including children is very harmful to all. This EVENT TEACHES THAT VIOLENCE AND CRUELTY IS FUN. They call it a feast. In the state of Yucatan, Mexico there is a “rodeo” type event called “Torneo de Lazo” where bulls ram horses and eviscerate them. THIS CAUSES A VERY HIGH LEVEL OF PAIN TO THE HORSES. These horses usually collapse and while still alive continue to get trampled by bulls and other horses during the length of this violent and cruel event where horsemen try to lasso the running, charging bulls (the bulls are specifically bred and trained to ram horses).
Although it is against the law, this is only in name. Mexico’s federal government as well as the local authorities do nothing to stop this. This event takes place state wide all year round.
Please demand the Mexican government to put and end to this barbaric event.

Connyland-Delfintod durch nicht unsachgemäße nunmehr beschlagnahmte Medikamentengabe?

 Lipperswil-Schweiz, Hagen-Westf., Redolfzell – 12.11.2011) Nachdem die Tierschutz-Organisationen Wal- und Delfinschutz-Forum (WDSF) und ProWal dem ermittelnden Staatsanwalt, Patrick Müller, übermittelt hatten, dass die beiden verstorbenen Tiere mit unkontrollierten Medikamenten behandelt wurden, ermittelt die Staatsanwaltschaft nun auch in diese Richtung.

Nach Informationen der Tierschutz-Organisationen haben die Meeressäuger das chinesische Mittel „Yunnan Baiyao“ erhalten, ebenso das Antibiotikum „Amoxicilline“. Demnach waren diese Mittel jeweils dem Futterfisch für die Delfine beigemengt worden. Staatsanwalt Müller bestätigte dem WDSF, dass „der Forensisch Naturwissenschaftliche Forschungsdienst (FND) der Kantonspolizei St. Gallen“ von ihm beauftragt wurde, „die verschiedenen im Delfinarium vorhandenen Medikamente sicherzustellen, mitunter auch das erwähnte chinesische Präparat“. Die Mittel sollen im Kompetenzzentrum in St. Gallen auf deren Inhaltsstoffe untersucht und dann mit den Ergebnissen der toxikologischen Untersuchung der Uniklinik Zürich verglichen werden.

 ProWal und WDSF weisen darauf hin, dass „Yunnan Baiyao“ ein blutstillendes und schmerzlinderndes Heilmittel ist, das bei traumatischen Verletzungen, verursacht beispielsweise durch Prellungen, aber auch bei Hautveränderungen, eingesetzt wird. Nach der Einnahme dieser Medizin sollte auf jeden Fall die Aufnahme von Fisch vermieden werden (s.a. http://www.tcmdepot.com/product_info.php?products_id=45&language=de). Bei Schwangerschaft wird von der Medikamentengabe dringend abgeraten.

 Da dieses medizinische Heilmittel den Delfinen offenbar mit Fisch und anderer Meeres-Nahrung verabreicht wurde, müsste man davon ausgehen, dass die Delfine dadurch vergiftet werden könnten, so WDSF-Geschäftsführer Jürgen Ortmüller. Tierschützer hatten bereits im September auf Hautveränderungen der Delfine hingewiesen, die der zuständige Veterinärarzt Paul Witzig als unerheblich eingestuft hatte. Für die Vergiftungserscheinungen der Delfine spreche auch, so ProWal, dass die Delfine nach eigener Aussage des Connyland unmittelbar nach Trainingsbeginn verstorben seien, bei dem Fisch als Belohnung für antrainierte Kunststücke verabreicht werde. 

 Dass die Delfine mit verunreinigtem Wasser von der Außenanlage, die jetzt geleert und gereinigt wurde, möglicherweise in Kontakt geraten sind, könnte den Tod der Meeressäuger beschleunigt haben, so ProWal-Chef Andreas Morlok. 

 Es würden dem Wasser säureartige Substanzen beigegeben, die es optisch aufklaren sollen, wie die ehemalige Delfintrainerin Graziella Blatter in einem Interview bestätigte (http://www.oceancare.org/de/aktuell/news/2011/11/Graziella_Blatter.php). 

 Jürgen Ortmüller (WDSF): „Wir müssen davon ausgehen, dass eine Verkettung selbst verursachter Umstände innerhalb des Connyland zum Tod der Delfine geführt hat. Die von uns rechtzeitig als schädlich definierte Techno-Party kurz vor ihrem Tod hat das Immunsystem der sensiblen Tiere erheblich beeinträchtigt. Staatsanwaltschaft und Veterinäramt sollten den Delfinarien-Betreibern umgehend die Lizenz für das Delfinarium entziehen, denn sie haben mehrfach bewiesen, dass sie ihren eigenen Tieren offenbar schaden. Der Transfer der verbleibenden drei Delfine in eine wissenschaftlich betreute Meeres-Lagune, wie in Israel oder Florida, könnte den geschundenen Delfinen einen verdienten und gesunden Lebensabend bieten. Außerdem könnte die angeblich delfinverliebte Zirkusfamilie Gasser ihre Delfine dort gar besuchen.“

Yesterday (10/28/2011), a case of E. coli was reported in a St. Louis man who will most likely not be celebrating last evening’s game-seven world series baseball win by his home team Cardinals over the Texas Rangers.

Having reported hundreds of cases of raw milk infection in the Notmilk letter over the years, and having equally related hundreds of links to peer-reviewed scientific research regarding cancer, heart disease, bone disease, asthma, diabetes, and hundreds of other diseases whose etiology can be traced directly to milk and dairy consumption, I am proud to be compared to molten lead by raw dairy advocates. Molten lead is hot. Lately, I’ve been hot too!

Just like the newly crowned world champion St. Louis Cardinals.

Tiertransporter mit 11.000 Poulets auf der Autobahn verbrannt verbrannt

22. Oktober  2011   EU: Ein Tiertransporter mit 11 000 (!) Masthühnern (Poulet) verbrannte auf deutscher Autobahn Wegen einem geplatzten Reifen kam auf einer deutschen Autobahn ein Camion mit 11 000 Hühnern in Brand. Durch das Feuer starben rund 5000 Tiere, wie die Polizei mitteilte. Ein Tierarzt ordnete zudem die Nottötung der übrigen 6000 Hühner in einem nahegelegenen Schlachthof an. Einige der Plastikkisten, in denen die Hühner transportiert wurden, schmolzen nach Polizeiangaben durch das Feuer. Eine Polizeistreife und andere Autofahrer versuchten zunächst vergeblich, den Brand zu bekämpfen. Erst die Feuerwehr konnte das Feuer löschen. Einige Tiere mussten noch an der Unfallstelle von der Feuerwehr getötet werden, um sie von ihren Qualen zu befreien.
